Thursday September 5 at 4:36 am PDT is a new Moon in the Earth sign Virgo. Sun, Moon, and Mercury are all in Virgo that’s excellent for communication and new ideas. Plus Sun and Moon in Virgo make a harmonious sextile to Jupiter that is very positive, and one of the few transits that can truly be considered lucky. Jupiter aspects bring a positive and insightful frame of mind to succeed. And under the influence of Jupiter it’s fortunate for group activities that expand your circle.

But Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto are in a cardinal T-square whereby actions are slowed down or delayed. Virgo rules the sixth house of health and service making this lunar cycle the ideal time to take care of yourself and others. So if you’re feeling worn out, use the energy of this new Virgo Moon to regain balance and maintain your health. It’s fortunate in this Water Snake year to slow down this autumn to preparation for a quiet winter when Snake hibernates.

METAL PHOENIX MONTH

This new Moon begins the month of the Metal Phoenix, also called the Metal Rooster. The element Metal is strong, adding focus to the Metal Phoenix. A Phoenix month is lucky in this Snake year because Snake, Phoenix, and Ox are most compatible together. They make an astrological grand trine just as they do in their Western astrololgy signs: Smart Phoenix = Virgo. Sensuous Snake = Taurus. Steady Ox = Capricorn.

Time to be reborn under the influence of the Phoenix! If you haven’t shed your skin to the new you in this Snake year, this lunar month is perfect for healing and transformation.
