February 2, 2015 marks the midpoint between winter solstice and spring equinox. This seasonal time of year is celebrated in many traditions including Candlemas in Christianity and Tu BiShvat, New Year for trees, in Judaism. Called Imbolc in Gaelic, this is the festival of the Goddess Brigid and the first stirrings of spring. Animals awaken after winter hibernation, hence Groundhog Day for augury from the movement of animals.
FULL MOON in LEO
February 3 at 3:09 PT pm is a full Moon in big-hearted Fire sign Leo. This full Moon conjuncts Jupiter in Leo for roaring good times! Plus the full Moon and Jupiter trine Uranus in Aries for something new, different, and innovative. Venus, Mars, and Neptune are all in Pisces to follow your heart.
Love planet Venus is in Water sign Pisces until February 20. Empathetic Pisces is the ideal sign for Venus because Venus is exalted in Pisces. Mars is in Pisces until February 19. The Piscean influence softens the power of Mars, making the influence of Venus more dominant. Mars rules Aries and Scorpio. Mars enters Aries on February 20, followed by Venus on February 21. With Mars in it’s rulership sign Aries, its influence will be more dominant.
HERE COMES THE SHEEP
After the full Moon wanes down over the next two weeks, the new Moon on February 18 begins Chinese New Year of the Wood Sheep. Home is very important to Sheep, who correlates to the western sign Cancer. Sheep, along with Sheep’s best friend Rabbit, need a safe, cozy home environment to return to. Happy full Moon,
