August 22, 2025 the Sun enters Virgo at 1:34 pm PT and at 11:06 pm is a new Moon in Virgo. Earth sign Virgo rules the sixth house of health, work, and service to others. Virgo is known for being neat, organized, and a good judge of character making this lunar month time to focus on practical earth-plane issues, especially your health.

2025 is a lunar leap year so the next new Moon on September 21 will also be in Virgo. But the next Virgo new Moon will be an eclipse when it might not be as easy to stay balanced and measured as you get organized, focused, and take care of self and and others. Contact me to schedule your tarot or astrology reading this lunar month, especially if you have decisions to make or plans to finalize now that Mercury is no longer retrograde.

This new Moon begins the lunar month of the Wood Monkey. Monkey creativity, ingenuity, and love of life can be very inspiring. The element Wood brings a desire for growth, travel, and new experiences. But the Sun and new Moon square Uranus in Gemini so do not become distracted or just not want to follow any sort of routine. This is still Snake year when it’s best to stay the slow and steady course.

Fortunately, lucky for love is Venus trine Saturn conjunct Neptune. With Saturn’s trine, people can be content and satisfied in relationships, and not make unrealistic demands. They can live up to their obligations, especially in business, and be objective in relationships. With Neptune’s trine, creativity is enhanced, there’s greater compassion and tenderness, and it’s easier to understand the thoughts and feelings of others. This new Moon is also excellent to begin a study of art or craft, and be more sensitive to the beauty in the world.

Monkey’s natural good fortune and Virgo healing is for everyone this lunar month, especially Earth signs Virgo, Capricorn, and Taurus and those born in Rat, Ox, Dragon, Snake, Phoenix (Rooster), and Monkey years.

Happy new Moon,
Susan
