HOW TO BEGIN

TAOIST ASTROLOGY book
The dynamic Horse year is the time for bold adventure when the pace of life a quickens. To be ready to pack your bags and go, clear the way by decluttering your home. You cannot afford chaos. Create luck by making your environment beautiful and living only with your best possessions.
To begin practicing Feng Shui, start with a massive clear-out. Your goal is to eliminate clutter from every room, with special attention to closets and the garage. Next, apply that same focus to the outdoors to clear and maintain your landscape or property. This process of decluttering inside and out clears away old energy, immediately giving you room to breathe and prepares your space for new luck to enter.
To ignite a new cycle of energy for Fire Horse year, choose one room and give it a fresh coat of paint. Paint the room that most needs new energy and a clean slate. This is the perfect preparation for 2026, an active Fire year. If you missed the chance to beautify your surroundings during 2025 Snake year, make it a priority now.
To determine your best color for the exterior of your buidling, take a walk and observe the colors of the neighboring buildings. Then paint your place the color that looks the best with the others. Matching or blending colors will creates harmony in your neighborhood and improves everyone’s property value.
Indoors, the most powerful and immediate transformation is through color. If your walls are all white or ivory, this dominance of the Metal element can lead to arguments. You can paint an entire room, add a colored backsplash, or simply trim a room with a vibrant tone. The main focus is on the living room in this Fire year, the heart of the home, so you can start in the living room if you don’t know where to begin.
COLORS of the FIVE ELEMENTS: A FENG SHUI GUIDE for YOUR HOME
In Feng Shui, the five elements Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood correspond to body organs in Chinese medicine, and to the rooms of your home. Applying the principles of the Five Elements gives you a deeper path for understanding and transforming your home to a create the optimal harmonious environment.
FIRE: The Heart of the Home
Organ: Heart
Room: Living Room
The living room is the heart of the home, a place for passion, energy, and family activity. It is represented by the hot, expanding energy of Fire. Strong Fire brings passion, energy, and creativity.
Fire Color Guidance: Stimulate conversation and vitality with accents of red, purple, orange, and all bright shades of red.
EARTH: The Center for Nourishment
Organ: Stomach
Room: Dining Room
In Chinese medicine, the element Earth correlates to the stomach because the dining room is where we eat, digest and nourish ourselves. Strong Earth energy is grounding, and brings stability, balance, and patience.
Earth Color Guidance: Best are soft, Yin earthen tones of gold, terra cotta, or light brown hues. Avoid red (Fire) walls, as this stimulating color can cause people to overeat or eat too fast.
METAL: The Room for Rest
Organ: Lungs
Room: Bedroom
The bedroom is where we rest and breathe deeply, aligning it with the element of Metal and the lungs. Strong Metal brings logic, clarity, and intelligence.
Metal Color Guidance: Best are calming, restful colors of white, cream, and soft pastels. Avoid large, bright, or colorful prints on bedding and drapery (especially in children’s rooms) as they are too Yang and disrupt rest.
WATER: The Space for Flow
Organ: Kidneys
Room: Bathroom
The bathroom is associated with elimination and cleansing, linking it to the free-flowing energy of Water. Strong Water brings wisdom, peace, and serenity.
Water Color Guidance: Paint your bathroom in a shades of white, or a soft, quiet, and calm color, or a relaxing pastel, to encourage peaceful elimination and soothing bathing and showering.
WOOD: The Root of Growth
Organ: Liver
Room: Kitchen
The kitchen is where food is transformed, and traditionally Wood feeds the cooking Fire. Wood energy represents growth, enthusiasm, and spirituality.
Wood Color Guidance: Since food preparation requires cleanliness, white walls are recommended. To introduce the Wood element, add green accents or maintain healthy plants or herbs. The kitchen must be kept meticulously clean, especially the stove.
