Oct 10, 2026 at 8:50 am PT is a new Moon in Libra. Air sign Libra rules the 7th house of relationships and marriage. The new Moon and Sun are in Libra, a sign ruled by Venus, bringing focus on love, romance, and relationships. This lunar month is time to create balance in both your personal and professional connections with others. Venus is retrograde until Nov 13 to review, reassess, and redo relationship patterns. Fortunately, interactions can be kind and thoughtful as Mercury in Scorpio conjuncts Venus for tactful not critical communication.
Relationship dynamics can be challenging as Venus squares Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius. It could be hard to balance Venus’ desire for harmony and ease in relationship with the self assertive drive of Mars to express individuality. And with the influence of Pluto, there could be issues of power or control. Good relationships can face facts and become deeper, although weak or draining partnerships may end. Finding and expressing truth are key as this new Moon begins the lunar month of the Earth Dog. Dog values truth, justice, honesty, and integrity of character. The element Earth adds stability and focus to noble Dog, creating a fighter, survivor, and champion of the underdog. Your plans and actions in Fire Horse year can gain strength and direction during this Earth Dog month. Dog month is fortunate in a Horse year because Dog, Horse, and Tiger create a compatibility trine.
Timing is good for making plans, especially before Mercury retrograde begins on Oct 24. The new Moon and Sun sextile Jupiter in Leo for a positive outlook and concern for the welfare of others. Although the new Moon and Sun are opposite Saturn in Aries for a realistic awareness of limitations, so patience may be required.
Opportunities for relationship growth and development are for all, and are most significant for Air signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius and those born in Dog, Rabbit, Tiger, and Horse years.
Happy new Moon,
Susan
