FENG SHUI for FIRE SHEEP YEAR 2027
FENG SHUI is an essential part of Chinese medicine that focuses on how to create a balanced, peaceful, and harmonious environment to actively restore and maintain your health.
2027 is a Fire year. The element Fire rules the heart in Chinese medicine. Your living room is the heart of your home, the place for family activity, and is represented by the hot, expanding energy of Fire. Strong Fire brings passion, vitality, and creativity. So make your living room lively, add pops of red, candles, and interesting items from your travels or items that have meaning for you.
Social Sheep enjoys the companionship and safety of the flock, so invite people over to socialize in your vibrant Yang living room, the room for living. I explain the basics of Feng Shui, and the structure of the Taoist Five Elements theory to explain the powerful ancient art and science of Feng Shui, in my book Taoist Feng Shui.

HOW TO BEGIN

TAOIST ASTROLOGY book
Sheep correlates to the Western sign Cancer, the sign of the 4th house that rules home, family, and roots. This is your year to focus on creating a cozy home that is your sactuary. Create luck by making your environment beautiful, and live with your most valued possessions. Info about the Fire Horse.
To begin practicing Feng Shui, start with a massive clear-out. Your goal is to eliminate clutter from every room, with special attention to closets and the garage where items hide in the dark. Next, apply that same focus to the outdoors to clear and maintain your landscape or property. This process of decluttering inside and out clears away old energy, immediately giving you room to breathe and prepares your environment for new luck to enter.
A powerful and immediate transformation of your environment is through color. For new energy, choose one room of your home and give it a fresh coat of paint. Paint the room that most needs new energy and revitalization. Or since the main focus is on the living room in this Fire year, you can start in the living room if you don’t know where to begin. You can paint an entire room, add a colored backsplash, or simply trim a room with a vibrant tone. If your walls are all white or ivory, this dominance of the Metal element can lead to arguments. So do add color.
To determine your best color for the exterior of your building, take a walk outdoors and observe the colors of your neighboring buildings. Then paint your home the color that looks the best with the others. Matching or blending colors will create harmony in your neighborhood, and improve everyone’s property value.
COLORS of the FIVE ELEMENTS: A FENG SHUI GUIDE for YOUR HOME
In Feng Shui, the five elements Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood correspond to body organs in Chinese medicine, and to the rooms of your home. Applying the principles of the Five Elements gives you a deeper path for understanding and transforming your home to a create the optimal harmonious environment.
FIRE: The Heart of the Home
Organ: Heart
Room: Living Room
The living room is the heart of the home, a place for passion, energy, and family activity. It is represented by the hot, expanding energy of Fire. Strong Fire brings passion, energy, and creativity.
Fire Color Guidance: Stimulate conversation and vitality with accents of red, purple, orange, and all bright shades of red.

EARTH: The Center for Nourishment
Organ: Stomach
Room: Dining Room
In Chinese medicine, the element Earth correlates to the stomach because the dining room is where we eat, digest and nourish ourselves. Strong Earth energy is grounding, and brings stability, balance, and patience. A round or oval dining table is best.
Earth Color Guidance: Best are soft, Yin earthen tones of gold, terra cotta, or light brown hues. Avoid red (Fire) walls, as this stimulating color can cause people to overeat or eat too fast.
METAL: The Room for Rest
Organ: Lungs
Room: Bedroom
The bedroom is where we rest and breathe deeply, aligning it with the element of Metal and the lungs. Strong Metal brings logic, clarity, and intelligence.
Metal Color Guidance: Best are calming, restful colors of white, cream, and soft pastels. Avoid large, bright, or colorful prints on bedding and drapery (especially in children’s rooms) as they are too Yang and disrupt rest.
WATER: The Space for Flow
Organ: Kidneys
Room: Bathroom
The bathroom is associated with elimination and cleansing, linking it to the free-flowing energy of Water. Strong Water brings wisdom, peace, and serenity.
Water Color Guidance: Paint your bathroom in a shades of white, or a soft, quiet, and calm color, or a relaxing pastel, to encourage peaceful elimination and soothing bathing and showering.
WOOD: The Root of Growth
Organ: Liver
Room: Kitchen
The kitchen is where food is transformed, and Wood feeds the Fire for cooking. Wood energy represents growth, enthusiasm, and spirituality.
Wood Color Guidance: Since food preparation requires cleanliness, white walls are recommended. To introduce the Wood element, add green accents or maintain healthy plants or herbs. The kitchen must be kept very clean, especially the stove.
